2nd Prize Bitty Barbary

Finished piece for *WormsandBones's Design your own Barbary Contest's second place prize, or rather, third now that I reread the journal. He'll be going to *Kamakru who came up with his colour scheme by basing it on fire and all things hot. I tried to carry that over as best I could when painting him, and stay true to her beautiful original design seen here: [link]

A few minor things had to be altered due to difference of scale and sculpt, but I hope *Kamakru's enjoy him as much as I did making him. He was quite a challenge in terms of recreating someone else's creature in my own style, and then trying to simulate that fluffy fur found on the Whelps, as well as a sense of scaled texture. Interesting things to play with! In terms of proportion, he almost looks like he's getting to the north side of being a whelp- nowhere near an adult yet, but getting a little bigger.
